I’m taking a bit of a break. I’ve started to burn out a bit (creatively) and I need some time to recharge my brain.
I’m not going to abandon anything, but I definitely need to take a step back. I just leaned in on a fairly significant timeline/conceptual retcon of the Imperium setting. Nothing that will make any major changes to the novel (plot), but it’s definitely taking some work to update the database (mostly the timeline). A lot of it is philosophical and how technology is handled, since it’s a bit of a jumble.
I put a password on the database site. As I decided that I didn’t really feel comfortable sharing that as is right now. Which makes me wonder if I should really be sharing it at all. There is a lot to be said for leaving things vague (for the public), and I had pretty much dumped everything in my head onto that obsidian site.
Anyway. Once the break is over, I plan to work on the novel again. I was taking a peek at it today and I saw a lot of changes I wanted to make on the first few pages, much less some chapters later in the book that need more work.
I had hoped to have an early alpha/beta reader draft out several months ago, but here we are.
Work on the TTRPG is currently paused, but I may dig back into that here and there.
The sequel novel is still mostly an outline, but I have put a fair amount of thought into how it’s going to go. I don’t/won’t know how all that’s going to work until I actually sit down and start writing though.
Cheers,
